Julita Oscar Foundation Zambia

On her Cape to Cairo journey, Julita met a young man, Oscar, working as a gardener at the resort she was camping in Livingstone, Zambia. True to her nature, she started speaking with him and wanted to know his background and dreams. Oscar explained that he was the only one from his village who could read and write and wanted to become a teacher, but his parents had no money to send him for such an education. Julita then inspired Oscar to dream bid and trust God with all his plans and the end of this story is the Julita Oscar Foundation and a little school in the located in the Ipee Village, in the western province of Zambia, What started with 25 kiddies is now a school of 55 learners and 2 teachers. The children also receive one meal a day making sure their tummies are full. MamaLita helps with school uniforms, paying the salary of one teacher, food every day, stationary , toys and balls for playing netball and soccer.

We believe every child deserves a quality education, that nurtures their talents, stimulates their curiosity, and empowers them to reach their full potential. However, the reality is, that many Zambian children are denied the basic right to attend school. Lack of funding and access to education can perpetuate cycles of poverty, inequality, social exclusion, gender discrimination, and early marriages. It is crucial that communities join to ensure that every child has an equal opportunity to learn and thrive. By building schools and educating children in one of the most impoverished and isolated areas of the world, we are changing lives and building futures forever. Education for every child, is an investment in a world, whose return pays by creating an equitable future for us all.

Bicycles

Supporting a local ministry that keeps kids off the streets and drugs by teaching them bicycle skills.  They go on rides together and do shows with their tricks.  They practice for hours and this way, they have something important in their lives rather than having nothing to look forward to but a life of addiction and poverty.   They get a meal and get help with their social problems.

Bicycles are the main means of transportation in most poor African countries.  They are used as taxis.  It is even regulated by government.  So, to give someone a bike, changes his/her life.  They can immediately become an entrepreneur and by earning money, they can provide for their families.  Everything changes with one bike.

Balls

To give the children of Africa gifts, is a difficult thing.  Firstly, you need many gifts, and they cannot use all the toys the western world plays with.  But a ball…. a whole village can play with one ball.  So we give netball balls to the girls and soccer balls to the boys, it changes everything for them.  It teaches them to play in a team, to share, to have fun together, sportsmanship, and pure pleasure.  They must also take care of the ball.  A ball becomes a wonderful tool.  And they do not have the means to buy balls.  Their balls are plastic wrapped tight together till it is a round ball.  So heavy.  But a real ball is an absolute gift from heaven to the children of Africa. Such a joy.

Uganda Orphanage

We help with the school fees of 25 orphans. We support a local ministry who give these kids board and lodging and puts them through school.  There are some beautiful stories of kids who are now professionals because someone paid their tuition.  Their lives are forever changed, and we find that they are the ones who then in return, pays it forward.

Agriculture

In Malawi, Zambia and Tanzania we help with seed and teaching the people about planting crops and how to maintain and harvest it.  We have some amazing stories, and this is an ongoing project.  Teaching to look after themselves and their nation.

Feeding Schemes

Africa is so wealthy in resources and land, and yet her people are poor. The circumstances under which they prepare their meals are terrible and mostly because of a lack of water and knowledge. Apart from feeding children at orphanages and people in times of drought, we teach the women in the rural areas about hygienic and safe cooking within their environment. They live in these conditions and need to learn how to survive their circumstances.
